She glances at him from across the hotel bar. She knows him but not intimately. Their companies have multiple accounts together, many of which they have worked on together. She’s always felt some sexual tension and chemistry between them when they work together but she’s too shy to say anything and he’s too professional to get personal at work. She’s always wanted to see him outside of the office but what were the chances of them being on the same out of state account? And in the same hotel!? Was it fate? Who cares! A different state made her feel a bit confident!
In the dimly lit bar, Jill Scott’s “Crown Royal” playing in the background has her feeling bold! She signals the bartender and sends over his current drink of choice. He looks up when he receives it and she raises her glass to “cheer.” As he attempts to walk over, she walks away. The bartender hands him a letter stating the lady left it for him. The letter is simple, “I’m sure this is unexpected but if your desire is the same, use the key.”
When she enters the room she jumps in the shower to freshen up and rolls on a bit of perfume and deodorant. She stays waxed, so it’s all good there! She throws on a bra and panty set and suddenly she hears a knock at the door. With a racing heart, she turns on Sabrina Claudio “Naked” and says “come in”….
I just need to feel again. To really breathe and experience life in unique ways. I’ve never wanted to a person to leave others broken hearted, somehow I’ve been ok being the person that could be left broken hearted. I’ve made it ok for me to take emotional and mental hits and keep moving. This moment in my life, I have some control now. I can breathe a little. Life can and will deliver gut punches. People believe you can take them because you have been with little complaining. Sometimes you have to be quiet and focus on yourself. Healing takes time. That’s the best gift you can give yourself. At the end of the day, you can only change yourself and wish for growth for others. The road is long and the path isn’t clear but stay the course because you’re worth it.
Be cautious with your words. True with your intentions. Release negative withholdings. Soothe your inner being. Move and act in love. Be genuine.
Today is a wonderful day to renew your energy. Focus on cleansing and healing. Share your energy with like minds. If you choose to make love or have sex today, be intentional in that. The energy you release and the energy you take in all play a role in your life. Be aware of what you are choosing to internalize.
So you’re in a relationship for 6 months ( timeframe may vary) and decide to move in together. However, you still have a wandering eye or lustful thoughts for others. So now you want your space and think it is time to take a break even though you really care deeply for this person. You now start second guessing whether or not you should even be in a relationship. Sound familiar? Well, let me give you my thoughts on the subject….
People that are in successful and happy marriages for 25 years, have found themselves looking at other people (which we discussed in the previous post). Having lustful thoughts can be very bad depending on the actions that follow. I’m a realist so please understand when I say the actions, not the thoughts, are the bigger deal. When you love someone, you have to consider how you would feel if the tables were turned. All these ingredients aren’t a recipe for staying single unless you want it to be. Everything worth having is worth fighting for. It’s not often that you meet a person that loves you completely, not for what you can do for them, but because of who you are. Their complete acceptance of you. We are all flawed with baggage but real love isn’t that common, so if you find it, grab it! If you decide to go along with a break, see how you feel without the person. If you feel empty, then rethink that decision. If you feel free, then you made the right decision.
The best start to a relationship, is a friendship. People are more forgiving of their friends, than their lovers. Friendships make the relationship stronger and places it on a better foundation. Things go wrong in love, but cutting and running because of fear or claustrophobia are not good reasons to lose out on a good thing. No one is perfect and loving is a learning process and relationship are balancing acts. Make it happen!
