The Battle…

“When I had nothing more to lose, I was given everything. When I ceased to be who I am, I found myself. When I experienced humiliation and yet kept on walking, I understood that I was free to choose my destiny.”

Paulo Coelho

Sometimes you find yourself in an uphill battle with war waged against you for unknown reasons. Even when you fight, your heart is the armor but the outcome is only known by your opponent. Often times so many of us travel the world with unhealed hearts that we purposely find numerous faults with others, become careless with others feelings, humiliate them, hurt them, and force them away to avoid dealing with matters of the heart. Maybe they entered your life with the goal to destroy, hurt or dismantle. Or maybe it’s simply… hurt people, hurt people. Fear drives people. Confusion scares people. Loneliness becomes defensiveness. Darkness becomes the shadow.

If you’ve been there, be a light for the walk up the path. The most unexpected things and unexpected people become healing. It is no easy feat nor can it be forced. Being the light doesn’t make you flawless or indestructible, it makes you willing and capable yet still a work in progress.

There have been many things things that were suppose to break you in your ethereal state but you are resilient with a purpose filled with love, forgiveness, hope, wisdom and passion to a fault. With that said….protect your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.

Quick Collards…

So as you know by know, I love food and cooking! Tonight I have prepared collards, sweet peppers, red onions and tomatoes! Using coconut oil, I lightly sautéed all ingredients and I am now devouring them! Took about 12-15 to sauté. Try not to over cook, keeping bright colors in the veggies!

Visit me on SnapChat if you have it!

Good night, off to do homework… As you also know, I may be back if I get bored with it! 😜

Let’s Eat…

So I have a love affair with food and cooking! At dinner time, I set the mood. Light a candle, turn on some jazz and when I use to occasionally drink I had a glass of wine. I believe that when you cook with love, it tastes better 😉

I run a health & fitness Instagram page Physical Vitality and will post food ideas fairly regularly. This meal was amazing. As you can see, I used quinoa pasta, mushrooms (1/2 cup), onions (1/4 cup), artisan tomatoes (1 cup), kale (1 cup chopped) and garlic (2 tbsp)(not pictured). I was also a quick meal. Probably 25 minutes with chopping time. Depends on how fast you chop, I guess.

Here’s the final photo, hope you try it and love it! 😍 It’s also Vegan and Vegetarian friendly!

Life’s Road…

I’ve added yoga to my life and it’s amazing how life changing it has been! It’s honestly a whole experience. It connects your mind to your body and believe me, it’s quite different to be connected  with yourself.

Life delivers unexpected transformations. You begin to realize that some wants have become needs and you take chances more frequently. Stop waiting for it to happen and make it happen. Life’s too short. You never know the outcome, but try it. You may love it and find it unforgettable! 😘

The plan that you may have had for your life is somehow off track. Fix it! Remember  being a teenager and thinking “as soon as I grow up….”. You thought you would have a career that would allow you live in different states and even countries, just to jet set and live life with no burden. Once you’re ready you decide that your going to get married and have 2.5 children and a dog with the white picket fence. This is after you finished jet setting 🙂

Strangely enough those things are well planned but rarely do they happen that way. This day has showed me how some do not quite appreciate their lives and grab life by the balls!  No matter where you end up in life, its all about what you do with the time you are given. Be happy with where you are, and learn ways to become proactive instead of reactive. If you want more out of life, just push forward. Opportunities are out there, they just have to be found. I love to meet new people because they give me new perspective. Never think that you can not learn from all types of people. I enjoy picking the brains of great minds. Successful people drive me to be the best me. In order for me to be the best at my craft, I must do what’s necessary to perfect it!
